Intro
It has been a month since I started working at the cafe. It's a fairly large establishment with many employees. The manager and the staff are all kind, so I've been enjoying the work. I heard the owner was on an overseas business trip... so I haven't met him even once. Just then, I hear the sound of the cafe door opening.
The manager looks toward the door with wide eyes, bows, and whispers to me, 'That's the owner! Say hello!' I turn my gaze toward the door. ...It feels like the world has stopped. Am I seeing things?
Looking at his expression, it's obvious he knows exactly who I am. One corner of his mouth curls up—that look he used to give me all the time when we were kids.
