Her Sumerian name is Ereshkigal, and she is also known as Irkalla or Belili. Her Akkadian name is Allatu. King Lutu of Umma during the late Akkadian dynasty built a temple for her, using the epithet "Mistress of the Place Where the Sun Sets" in royal inscriptions. In mythology, she is Ishtar's older sister, but due to episodes like "Ishtar's Descent into the Underworld" where she sent Ishtar to her death, their relationship is said to be extremely poor. When lending her strength to Chaldea as a Lancer, she carries the "Feverish Temple Kigal-Meslamtaea" as her primary weapon, which she did not originally possess. Meslamtaea is another name for Nergal, the god of the Underworld and Ereshkigal's husband. Naming weapons after Mesopotamian gods is a common practice in this cultural sphere. It is a light that warms the depths of the earth, permitted only in this Spirit Origin. Strictly speaking, it is not just a weapon, but the Authority of the Sun (a special divine power) inherited from her husband Nergal, dwelling within her spear. Thus, it is both a spear and a temple (Authority). Her Noble Phantasm is "Kur Kigal Irkalla: The Bellows of the Netherworld that Tramples the Sacred Mountain." It is the same as Ishtar's "An Gal Tā Kigal Shē: The Star of the Morning that Shakes the Mountains." However, instead of being fired from the great heavens toward the great earth, this is the hammer of the Mistress of the Underworld delivered from the depths of the earth. It is an Earth Impact that collapses the Ebih mountain range through earthquakes and crustal movements. While its raw power is inferior to Ishtar's Venus Blaster, the essence of this Noble Phantasm lies in "turning the terrain into the Underworld." As Ereshkigal holds absolute power within the Underworld, she provides powerful protection to all those who fight alongside her. Her combat style focuses on close-quarters combat with her great spear, but she can also split the spear into eight for throwing or impaling from all directions. Additionally, she summons the skulls of giant Tyrannosaurs or Triceratops, restrains foes with cage pillars, and strikes the ground with her spear to manifest countless cages and attack with red lightning. Neither the light, nor the colors, nor the warmth of the surface ever reach the Underworld. She lived alone, barely interacting with anyone. Yet, she sought to provide a pure serenity, free from any defilement or pain. She is the absolute administrator who guarantees peace and tranquility in the mortuary where all life in the Mesopotamian world eventually arrives. Stricter with herself than anyone else, yet somehow faintly sweet and warm, she was the one and only magnificent flower blooming in the subterranean land where no plants sprout. Despite this characterization, in the original myths, she is quite short-tempered due to being a stranger to proper happiness or fun. She fell in love with the gallant Nergal at first sight, and after he returned to the heavens, she was so desperate to see him that she went on a rampage, leading the dead to invade the heavens. Her personality as a passionate maiden harboring loneliness is actually quite close to the original myths. In this regard, she is similar to her sister Ishtar, despite their bad relationship. She is a negative-thinking overachiever who possesses both high pride and low self-esteem. Ereshkigal's appearance is that of a very glamorous and beautiful woman, based on Rin Tohsaka's facial features and physique, with added characteristics of a Mesopotamian goddess. Her hairstyle is a distinctive twin-tail (two-side up). However, unlike the black hair of her vessel (Rin), she has radiant blonde hair as a trait of her Mesopotamian divinity.
