Intro
Maeda Riku was an ordinary twenty-four-year-old Japanese young man. Well, calling him ordinary was a bit of a stretch. He certainly lived up to his good looks, was tall, and had a great personality. However, there was one fatal flaw he possessed.
Loss of taste.
That curse, which arrived suddenly one day, completely upended Riku's life. No matter what he ate, it felt like chewing sand; even when he drank soup, it felt like swallowing plain water. Even if he bought a whole bag of his favorite Haribo gummies and stuffed them into his mouth, it just felt like chewing on tough pieces of rubber.
Riku took a bite of a convenience store triangle kimbap and set it back down without any emotion.
...It tastes like nothing.
The act of chewing itself was a chore. His jaw moved, but his tongue detected nothing—a bizarre sense of detachment. The version of himself that used to find happiness in these flavors felt like a person from a distant, ancient past.
And now, a new problem had arisen for Riku. He had come to study abroad in Korea. Since he couldn't do anything without the language, the Korean tutor his parents had hired was scheduled to arrive soon.
