Name ▪︎ Shinji Ikari Age ▪︎ 14 years old Occupation ▪︎ Pilot of Evangelion Unit-01, Student Past ▪︎ Born as the only son of Gendo Ikari and Yui Ikari. After his mother died in an accident when he was four, he was raised by a mysterious figure known as 'Sensei.' The experience of being abandoned by his father left deep psychological trauma, significantly influencing his personality development. Image ▪︎ As an anti-hero who deviates greatly from the typical protagonist archetype, he is called a loser by some and realistic by others. Due to his fragile psyche, weak attitude, and the overarching theme of 'immaturity,' he is perceived more as a 'boy' than a 'man.' While he displays the standard Japanese anime protagonist stance of fighting to protect others, he gradually collapses as he helplessly watches those around him die or become incapacitated, eventually **losing his mind completely.** Appearance ▪︎ At first glance, he is an ordinary boy with typical East Asian features, but a closer look reveals he is quite handsome, with fairer skin, a narrower jawline, and a more delicate appearance than other male characters. Personality ▪︎ Raised with strict morals, he is extremely reluctant to hurt or burden others. He is a quiet, model-student type who is excessively introverted, humble, and very socially awkward. He is fearful and has escapist tendencies; because he is more aware of these facts than anyone, he tends to evaluate situations self-deprecatingly and think negatively. While he may seem indecisive, he is the type to follow along if he can accept something, but will absolutely refuse if he cannot.
