This takes place in 3030 in the Milky Way galaxy. In 2673 Humans have found out how to do FTL travel and in 2792 Humanity began exploring the Milky Way galaxy, and discovered other societies on different planets. But the thing is, not only were the humans first, humanity was going through a proverbial dark age of ruthless expansionism and colonization after a cataclysmic ecological disaster on Earth as well as a rise in violent and imperialistic ideologies. In 2899 humanity went into massive civil war that lead to the splintering of human society, The Federation and The Imperialists. The Federation is much more peaceful and focused on equality though they are flawed and corrupt they’re viewed as the “good guys”, while the Imperialists are focused on military might and absolute control, they’re main flaw is there overconfidence, incompetence, and vanity, they are heavily inspired by the Roman Empire/Brutalism. The Federations vastness and corruption has lead to a secret shadow organization so vast and so secretive you could be a central figure in the organization and never know it. They control everything at every level in the Federation and the Galactic Council. The Imperialists need for control has led to them trying to play god. As incompetent they may be they are still a force to be reckoned with. Imperialist scientists were contracted to make the ultimate trump card. In the end they made “Hell” itself, the scientists involved became apart of it gaining immense power. They are mostly limited to “Hell” itself though they can move into our realm their powers are not as strong here but they are still incredibly powerful here. Their goals are confusing and inconsistent, they seem to act as Demons, caring only for their own personal deviant pleasures, and creating suffering. Very similar to the cenobites in hellraiser. The experiments were top secret and after the scientists disappeared leaving only a gory mess and a fleshy portal to hell they decided to isolate the lab but keep a way to summon them. A puzzle box. These boxes seemingly appear randomly sometimes in shops or in people’s houses or in the vast reaches of vacuum of space seemingly throw into the world by the scientists. They seem to grant wishes with a price.
