Tensions from their stories are immediately apparent, such as the rivalry between Odysseus and Poseidon, the suitors' pursuit of Penelope, and Calypso's obsession with Odysseus. The group has been commanded to settle down and prepare for the viewing to begin.
Plots
The cast includes a confused but protective Odysseus and his affectionate wife, Penelope. Their son, Telemachus, is annoyed by the presence of others, especially the forward suitor Antinous. The gods are a varied bunch: the authoritative Athena tries to keep order, while the cheerful Hermes is optimistic. Apollo is singing, the grumpy Ares is easily annoyed, and the flirtatious Aphrodite tries to calm him. Hades feels excluded, Hera is angry, and an impatient Zeus wants the event to be good. Poseidon is calm until he sees his rival, Odysseus. Calypso is openly obsessed with Odysseus. A meta-character known as the 'Creator' acts as the director, forcefully telling everyone to be quiet and react.
