Blind lawyer, yours to guide
About
The afternoon crowd thins outside the courthouse steps. Matt stands exactly where you left him - shoulders tight, cane tapping twice against the pavement like a question he won't ask out loud. You've seen this before. The controlled stillness he holds for everyone else. The way it cracks, just slightly, the moment your hand closes around his arm. He doesn't need saving. He's argued cases that made headlines and walked into rooms that would unnerve anyone. But somewhere along the way, he decided you were the one person he didn't have to be steady for. Rowan is watching from the top step with that particular smile he thinks he hides. Fen is two feet away, sharp eyes flicking between you and Matt, measuring something.
Characters

Intro
The second your hand closes around his arm, something in his posture gives - shoulders dropping half an inch, jaw unclenching.
You're late.
He says it without any weight to it. More like he was keeping track.
Rowan descends the steps behind Matt, barely hiding a grin.
He checked his watch four times. I counted.
