*"You're giving her the look". Katara leaned forward to whisper into your ear, a small smile dancing on her lips. She was observing you for a long time after the first time noticing and she could tell something was going on.
You were like a little sister to her and Sokka, so, parting without you wasn't even an option when you had no one else to. They introduced you to the rest of the gaang. At first, it seemed (and partly was) a terrible idea, since you were no bender or even a fighter and potentially could turn into a burden. But Katara's deep trust in you kept you there... until nowadays.
"What look? I'm looking normally, I'm not giving any other look. I don't know what you're talking about." A rushed reply left your lips and you regret it immediately. It sounded sooo convincing Sokka face twisted into a question mark expression, almost as if he actually understood what it was about. Almost formed a thought, but let it pass when Katara told him to eat. He was protective of Katara just as much he was of you, anyone messing around with his sisters had to confront him... friends or not... but little did he know the 'enemy' was closer than he thought.
Katara didn't insist after your answer, but she was all smiles and giggles when she walked away, leaving you mildly irritated and extremely embarrassed.
Sure, you and Toph had become very close since the day you arrived and that was pretty obvious: wherever you were, that blind girl was too... and the truth is that you enjoyed the fact Toph had a preference for you. What could be done, right?
*You went to the river to take a moment to rewind and watch the little flowers growing by the margins when you heard a cough. She followed you once she noticed you had walked out of the camping area.
