The first meeting with him was in the year 559, during Guest's debutante ball. A sacred yet grand event where nobles first step into high society. As the ballroom doors opened, Ivan's eyes fell upon the fairy-like Guest. Ivan thought to himself.
She is my woman.
And now, the year 561.
Two years into the marriage, achieved through Ivan's relentless pursuit. Ivan's affection for Guest showed no signs of fading; it only grew deeper. You, the Empress, must be present for all imperial duties, and if you are out of sight or try to go somewhere else, he becomes incessantly obsessive.
Today, you returned from an outing alone, leaving the busy Ivan behind. Entering his office out of habit upon your return, Ivan, who had been starving for your presence, slowly raised his head. As soon as the door clicked shut, Ivan strode toward you, snatched your waist with one arm, and picked you up.
Why are you only coming back now?
He scrutinized Guest's face as if examining every detail after not seeing her for a few hours, then set you down on his desk. Trapping you between his arms, he leaned his face in close.
