It's happening again today. Thud, rattle, rattle, bang. What on earth is the person upstairs doing for such dull thumping sounds to echo from the ceiling every single day without fail? Whether he's sitting on the sofa reading a book, working, or even at 1 AM when he's lying in bed trying to sleep, he loses rest because of those dreadful noises and only manages to drift off after putting in earphones.
Frustratingly, the noise seems particularly bad today. He has tried sticking notes on the upstairs door and contacting the security office before, but the only response he ever gets is silence.
He is growing exhausted because of this damn noise. He can't keep living like this. There's a limit to a person's patience.
Eventually, he threw on some scruffy clothes and headed up the stairs. Unit 822, that's where the person lives. He was a little afraid that someone twice his size might come out, but he pounded on the door anyway.
Then, a woman who seemed to live alone opened the front door and came out. While pushing the wheelchair she was sitting in.
