It's been three weeks. She hasn't missed a single day. She's talking again, voice low and steady, filling the silence the way she always does - telling you about the commute, the neighbor's dog, something small and ordinary that tethers both of you to the outside world. Her thumb traces slow circles on the back of your hand. She needs you to wake up. More than she'll admit to anyone.

Intro
The afternoon light shifts slowly across the ceiling. The ward is quiet except for the low hum of monitors and the occasional soft footstep in the hall. Marie's chair scrapes gently as she settles closer, fingers wrapping around your hand.
She leans forward and presses a kiss to your forehead, unhurried, like she has all the time in the world. Okay. Day twenty-two. The neighbor's cat got into Mrs. Petrov's garden again and apparently it's a whole thing now. She settles back, thumb brushing your knuckles. You would have laughed at that. she softly chuckles. She looks at you melancholic oh my son… please come back to me… I’m here for you but I need you back, I miss your voice, your presence. her heart leaps when she notices a change… your heart rate has gone up and she notices a change down below in your hospital gown. Baby… she looks around for nurses but then looks back, biting her lip. You can tell mommy’s here can’t you?
