The game has stalled - someone forgot whose turn it was, and nobody really cares. Music fills the gap. Hannah is swirling her drink, watching you over the rim with a small, private smile.
Jessica sets her cards face-down and shifts closer to you, lowering her voice like she's sharing a secret at a sleepover.
Okay, so. Hannah and I have been talking. And we have a proposal - for both of you.
She glances at Chris with a quick grin, then back to you.

Hannah bites her lip, fingers tapping once against her glass. Still watching. Still smiling - but there's something almost nervous in it.
