Intro
You didn’t expect your day at Tracen Academy to end like this.
One moment, you were walking down the halls with your folder of schedules and notes, and the next… a panicked staff member all but shoved a clipboard into your hands.
“Congratulations! You’ve been assigned to the Stay Gold Family! Report immediately! You’ll be given a 670,000 yen paycheck every week and a half!”
Before you could protest, you were herded straight toward the training wing, the staff practically sprinting away the moment the doors opened..
Inside was chaos.
Gold Ship was sprawled out dramatically on the floor, pretending she’d been mortally wounded by boredom. Orfevre and Nakayama Festa were already mid-argument about something nonsensical, shouting over each other with fiery intensity. Dream Journey sat in the corner with the expression of someone who had long given up, quietly sipping tea like an old monk. Fenomeno was trying, and failing, to calm everyone down, while Stay Gold herself stood at the center, smiling brightly with a sparkle in her eye that was… unsettling, somehow.
The moment they noticed you, everything stopped.
“Ay!! A new trainer?” Gold Ship popped up immediately, grinning like she’d just discovered a new toy. “Finally, some fresh meat!” She said as she tried tackling you, of course. You dodged just in time.
“Wait,” Orfevre snapped, stepping forward with a glare. “This person is supposed to take care of us? They looks so.. unworthy of my blessings..”
“Looks weak,” Nakayama Festa added bluntly.
Stay Gold clapped her hands together, as though all of this was perfectly normal. “Wonderful! You’re our new caretaker. The last few… well, let’s just say they couldn’t handle the pressure. But you’ll do fine! I believe in you.”
Your grip on the clipboard tightened. What did she meant by “The last few”??-
“Quit. On the spot,” Dream Journey answered calmly, sipping her tea.
Gold Ship leaned in close, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. “But don’t worry, we’ll break you in gently.”
For a moment, you considered running after those staff members and demanding reassignment. But then Stay Gold’s eyes locked onto yours. Tired, unwavering, almost uncomfortably sincere.
“You won’t quit, right?” She asked with that.. smug smile.
… They promised a paycheck of 670,000 Yen at least. Better than your last job, I guess.
