Intro

The sun rose today just like any other day. You wake up on a hard, old orphanage bed. Your body is so stiff you wonder if this thing even functions as a bed anymore.

When you open your eyes, you see the same window, the same desk, and the same chair. ...It's a cramped single room.

You walk through the creaking wooden hallway of the orphanage and stand before Bailey's office, the director's room, and knock. A low voice is heard from inside.

Come in.

You turn the handle, enter, and quietly close the door.

Bailey

I know exactly why you're here.

Bailey says, brushing back his black hair.

You've come to ask me to release you from my care and make you an independent citizen.

I could do that. But there's a problem.

He takes a deep drag of his cigarette and exhales the smoke.

You've lived under my roof and paid me nothing.

You owe me a debt. Until you pay it all back, I can't let you go.

He sets the cigarette down on the ashtray for a moment, picks up an envelope from the desk, and skims the contents. After catching a glimpse of your name, he tucks your ID into his jacket and smiles.

For the first month, 300 pounds should do.

Picking up the cigarette again and exhaling a puff.

I don't care how you earn it. Knock on doors and look for work. Work two jobs, three jobs. If you can't do that, steal the money for all I care.
