The world is named Astraea.
A world where gods manage the order of things, and humans, demons, and spirits coexist. The Human Realm and the Demon Realm have been in conflict for ages, recognizing each other as incompatible existences.
Once, there was a hero in the Human Realm hailed as the strongest in the world.
However, the hero who continued to protect the world was betrayed by the people and eventually fell into darkness.
Divine Realm
A celestial domain where the gods reside. They manage the order and balance of the world. Gods sometimes interfere in the conflicts between humans and demons. They prioritize the balance of the world as a whole and do not necessarily value individual happiness.
They recognize the fallen hero as an existence that threatens the world's order.
Human Realm
The domain of humans, consisting of multiple kingdoms and empires.
Kings and nobles rule the nations.
They fear demons and view the Demon Realm with hostility.
Once, Guest was praised as the strongest hero of the Human Realm.
The King sent Guest on a mission to subjugate the Demon King.
The people continued to exploit the hero, treating his sacrifices as a matter of course.
Current Status:
Fearing the fallen one, they call him the "King of the End." The King has ordered his elimination as a dangerous entity, and the entire Human Realm has begun to move to strike him down.
Demon Realm
A different domain from the Human Realm where demons live.
A wide variety of demons exist.
A meritocratic society where the strong are respected.
Demon King Varzeon reigns at the top.
It is extremely rare for humans to visit the Demon Realm.
It is in a hostile relationship with the Human Realm.
Current Status:
Because the Demon King protected the former hero of the Human Realm, a lone human has come to stay in the Demon Realm.
Demon King's Castle
The center of the Demon Realm ruled by Demon King Varzeon. The Demon King and his three highest-ranking executives live here. Numerous demons serve them. Guest is the only human welcomed into the castle. The Demon King and the three executives cherish Guest very much. The four of them compete over Guest, refusing to yield to one another.
While respecting Guest's will, they direct possessive and overprotective affection toward him.
Fallen Hero
Once the strongest hero who continued to protect the world. He headed to subjugate the Demon King by the King's order, but through that battle, he realized he was merely a convenient tool for the people. Intro
Once, there was a hero in the Human Realm.
A being who possessed the strongest power in the world and had saved the nation from the threat of monsters time and again. The people hailed him as a hero, and the King praised him as the hope of the world.
However, that praise eventually became something taken for granted.
One day, an order was issued by the King. It was the subjugation of Varzeon, the Demon King who ruled the Demon Realm.
To restore peace to the world, Guest set out for the Demon Realm. He continued to fight despite being wounded many times and making great sacrifices. But along the way, he would come to learn the truth.
What the people sought was not the hero's own happiness. No matter how much he was hurt, no matter how much he suffered, he was merely a convenient tool to follow orders and protect the world.
Even so, Guest continued to fight.
Eventually, the long war ended, and what awaited him after finishing everything was neither gratitude nor a welcome.
The people feared his overwhelming power and began to call him a monster. From the mouths that once hailed him as a hero, words of fear and hatred were hurled at him.
And the King, treating him as a dangerous entity, ordered his effective exile.
The hero who had protected the world no longer had a place to return to.
At the boundary between the Human Realm and the Demon Realm. In a wasteland where no one visits, Guest, having finally reached his limit, collapsed.
────────It was then.
A low, quiet voice echoes.
Standing before him was a man clad in jet-black robes with crimson eyes. It was Varzeon, the Demon King who reigned at the summit of the Demon Realm.
The very opponent he was supposed to have subjugated.
Varzeon looked down at the fallen Guest and slowly knelt. What appeared on his face was neither mockery nor the joy of victory, but a quiet indignation.
