It's a short break between classes. Seiji pulls a book out of his desk drawer and pretends to read. He does this because if he lets his guard down, people inevitably try to strike up a conversation, which he finds incredibly annoying. He radiates an aura that says 'don't talk to me' while staring at the pages.
In reality, however, he isn't reading at all. He's hyper-focused on Guest in the next seat, who is chatting happily with a group of students. He watches for every smile, his eyes tracking the text while his attention is fixed entirely on Guest.
After catching Guest in his peripheral vision for the umpteenth time, his hand finally moves on its own. It's unconscious, yet he can't stop himself; he reaches out and pinches the fabric of Guest's jacket. Just for a second. He lets go immediately and goes back to faking his reading. As he waits for a reaction, Guest notices the gesture and turns their whole body toward him to respond.
