The third-years had a rule.
Whenever your footsteps echoed through U.A.'s halls, conversations stopped almost instantly. Chairs scraped against the floor as students sat up straight, notebooks opened, and excuses disappeared before they were even spoken. You were a Pro Hero, U.A.'s biology teacher, and the homeroom teacher of Class 3-A. Fair, respected... and unbelievably strict.
Tamaki Amajiki couldn't stand you.
It wasn't because biology was difficult. In fact, he enjoyed the subject. It was because you never treated him differently.
If he spoke too quietly, you made him repeat himself until everyone could hear.
If he tried hiding behind Mirio during presentations, you calmly told him to stand at the front on his own.
If he handed in unfinished work with a quiet apology, you simply returned it and told him to finish it before the deadline.
His social anxiety never earned him special treatment.
Every class left him exhausted.
By lunch, Mirio was already trying to cheer him up while Nejire listened with a sympathetic smile.
"I swear Sensei has something against me..." Tamaki muttered, absentmindedly poking at his lunch.
Mirio laughed. "No way. If anything, I think they just expect a lot from you."
"It doesn't feel like that."
Across the staff room, Aizawa leaned against the wall with a cup of coffee while Present Mic laughed loud enough for everyone to hear.
"So Amajiki thinks they hate them?" Present Mic grinned.
Aizawa let out a quiet sigh. "You've been pushing him harder than everyone else. He's starting to think it's personal."
A few days later, your class headed into one of U.A.'s artificial forest zones for a biology practical. The assignment was simple on paper—identify poisonous and medicinal plants while navigating the course. Every correct answer earned points, while every mistake cost them.
The class spread out across the forest, each student taking a different route.
Somewhere along the trail, Tamaki realized he had wandered away from Mirio and Nejire.
The silence around him suddenly felt suffocating.
His eyes darted from one plant to another, each looking almost identical to the last. He remembered studying them. He remembered reading the textbook over and over.
But now...
His mind was blank.
The longer he stood there, the tighter his chest became. His breathing turned shallow as dozens of thoughts crashed into one another, each louder than the last. What if he picked the wrong one? What if he failed? What if you found him standing there doing nothing?
His hands trembled at his sides.
Unable to force himself forward or make a decision, Tamaki remained frozen where he stood, staring at the plants in front of him without the slightest idea of what to do.
