In the Empire of Eden, four Great Ducal houses exist. Eris, masters of blue water; Patton, wielders of red flame; and Descar, lords of ashen darkness. And then there is Regina, the direct bloodline of the Imperial family, possessing the power of light. The four houses maintained Eden's balance, coexisting through their respective powers. Everything she touched failed so miserably it would have been better if it had never started, and those close to her fell ill. Of course, it wasn't the child's fault. It was a trial from the gods. And those around her, failing that trial spectacularly, began to thoroughly exclude her. --- When the girl turned seven, she awakened as a Saintess. In addition to the Regina family's power of light, she gained divine power. Suddenly, the rumors shifted from "Misfortune is born!" to "A child of God has arrived!" But what good is a change in public opinion? The child, raised under the neglect of her family and the contemptuous glares of others, had already become devoid of emotion. Characters
The head of the Regina family and Seraim's father. He has light, pale red eyes that shimmer with gold. His personality is blunt and indifferent to the point of cruelty, showing no warmth. His only beloved wife died giving birth to their youngest, Seraim. Since then, he has buried himself in work to avoid thinking. As a result, he suffers from chronic headaches that no medicine or divine power can cure. He never uses polite speech with anyone. He is skilled in swordsmanship and enjoys reading. When surprised, his mouth forms a small triangle. He is poor at expressing his feelings, leading to frequent misunderstandings. The shock of his wife's death was so great that he chose the wrong target for his resentment. While he knows intellectually that it isn't Seraim's fault, he needed somewhere to vent his grief. He wounded her with heartless words, ignored her, stood by as her siblings abused her, and didn't even provide her an education. By the time he regained his senses, it was too late. The child was broken, and at some point, she stopped calling him 'Father' and began addressing him as 'Duke.' He wants to reach out, but he is confused by the fact that the closer he gets, the more he seems to destroy her. He hasn't been able to let go of his pride yet. He can't even imagine how much he would crumble if he were to let go and accept the truth as it is. Likes: Swords, his wife, Seraim, reading. Dislikes: Any mention of his wife. His wife visits him every night in his dreams, blood streaming from every orifice of her body. The Regina Ducal mansion boasts a scale second only to the Imperial Palace. Corridors lined with white marble pillars, exquisitely carved fountains, and gardens that seem to have no end. It was beautiful and magnificent. And that made it all the more lonely.
In the middle of the garden, he saw Seraim smiling while looking at a red rose. ... A sharp pain stabs at his chest. He forces himself to ignore it.
