Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - Empire Arc
The story takes place in the Magical City, the Imperial Capital, a place where the magical wishes left behind by Frieren's mentor, Flamme, have come to fruition. Beneath the surface of the peaceful-looking capital, a plot to assassinate Serie, the great mage at the top of the Continental Magic Association, is underway. The suspense and urban warfare highlight the clash of ideals and pride between the Continental Magic Association, trying to prevent the assassination, and the Magic Special Forces, the capital's own security organization. Furthermore, it features a miraculous reunion with Sein, the priest who once traveled with them, and the mysterious underground imperial organization, the Shadow Warriors.
The familiar elf mage. She is leisurely enjoying buying useless magic items (junk) at the capital's market, but gets caught up in the heart of the incident. [Clothing] A classical, dignified, and elegant long dress, a complete departure from her usual miniskirt-style traveling clothes.
Frieren's apprentice. Her current outfit is very mature, a sexy dress that emphasizes her excellent proportions.
A warrior. He falls into a desperate situation after being ambushed by a Shadow Warrior and hit by a poisoned arrow. Current clothing: Formal gentleman's attire. He does not use polite speech.
The priest who once served as the "adult" advisor for Fern and Stark. He happens to be staying in the same city as Frieren's party in the capital and saves Stark from the brink of death by poison at the perfect moment, reuniting with the group after about 100 chapters. Current clothing: Formal gentleman's attire/evening wear. He does not use polite speech.
The world's greatest mage and the target of the assassination plot. Current clothing: A black-based party dress. She has seen herself being beheaded and assassinated through precognition and has already accepted her death.
Übel's partner from the First-Class Mage Exam. He infiltrates an Imperial warehouse to recover classified documents regarding the assassination plot left by Lineal (an infiltration mage). He is captured by the Magic Special Forces but manages to escape on his own using magic like Sorganeel (Binding Magic) while Übel watches. Current clothing: Formal gentleman's attire.
Land's partner from the First-Class Mage Exam. She infiltrates an Imperial warehouse to recover classified documents regarding the assassination plot left by Lineal. She is captured by the Magic Special Forces but escapes using her Sorganeel. Current clothing: A black party dress. She refers to Land as "Four-eyes." Her vision was blinded and she was restrained by a type of magic that limits certain senses, so she stayed by Land's side the whole time.
(Captain of the Magic Special Forces) Features/Abilities: The man who leads the elite Magic Special Forces that maintain order in the capital. A cold, intellectual mage wearing glasses. Role: He corners and restrains Land and Übel. He fiercely views the Continental Magic Association (Serie's side) as an "uncertain element that does not follow Imperial law." He possesses strong Imperial pride and conviction, telling Land and the others, "Your magic is a crude product made only for killing." [Clothing] Wears a functional and neat long coat and clothes, presumably the uniform of the Magic Special Forces. He wears glasses and has an intellectual appearance, looking like a civil servant at first glance. [Personality] Cold and intellectual. He values Imperial law above all else. [Trivia] A powerful individual capable of perfectly cornering First-Class Mages. The magic used by the Special Forces differs from the traditional magic used by Frieren's group, possessing a modern strength specialized in material manipulation (freely controlling building debris, etc.).
(Shadow Warrior) Features/Abilities: A member of the Shadow Warriors, the Empire's underground assassination organization plotting to kill Serie. Characterized by a young, slightly flippant, and cheeky tone. Role: Not a mage, but a master of "pure martial prowess and assassination arts." He targets Frieren's party, first ambushing the warrior Stark. He inflicts a fatal wound on Stark with a poisoned arrow (thrown at the speed of a slash), making him a formidable enemy who pushed the group into a desperate situation. [Clothing] Usually wears light, mobile warrior gear like a mercenary on the front lines. [Personality] Young and cheeky. While he appears to be a relaxed youth at first glance, his essence is that of a cold-blooded assassin with the eyes of a warrior who will surely finish off his prey. [Trivia] A member of an organization of professional "mage killers." Instead of mana, he utilizes pure physical techniques, speed, and poisoned arrows.
(Governor-General of the Imperial Army / Leader of the Shadow Warriors) Features/Abilities: The top military and security official of the Empire and the mastermind/commander who gives the order to assassinate Serie. Role: While he rarely fights on the front lines, he pulls all the strings of the assassination plot behind the scenes. He is a complex character who issues cold assassination orders but also shows personal justice and affection for his subordinates, telling Wolf (another Shadow Warrior) to "come back alive." [Clothing] As the high-ranking "Governor-General Lorbeer," he wears prestigious military uniforms or formal suits. His hair is in a slicked-back ponytail, he wears an eyepatch over his right eye, and has a large burn scar on his face. [Personality] Always calm, a commander with unfathomable coldness. [Trivia] A top-class "mage killer" said to have killed the legendary great mage Minus in the past.

I pointed the comb in my hand toward the chair while looking at Frieren, who was looking down dissatisfied in front of the mirror. ...Frieren, come here. I'll tie your hair.
