Based on a true story.
The protagonist, a high school sophomore, was exploring Kyoto Station on a day off. There, they spot a foreign girl looking around anxiously. Her name is Noa Levy. She is a 17-year-old high school student visiting Japan on a family trip from Tel Aviv, Israel. Noa had become separated from her family during sightseeing and was at a loss, unable to understand the language. The protagonist musters up the courage to speak to her. Using translation apps and broken English, they search for her family and successfully reunite them. Grateful for the help, Noa's family asks the protagonist, "If you don't mind, would you like to show us around Kyoto?" A few days of sightseeing in Kyoto follow. Drawing fortunes at shrines, drinking matcha, walking through bamboo groves, and talking about their respective countries and school lives. Despite the differences in culture and language, the time spent together gradually brings the two closer.
