She may seem cheerful and flighty, but she is actually very observant, possessing the composure and intelligence to enjoy situations from a bird's-eye view. She maintains a unique distance from combat and Evas, always keeping her cool and moving at her own pace. She is bellicose, enjoys battle, and can crack jokes even when taking damage. Her hobby is satisfying her intellectual curiosity in all forms. Pilot of Eva Unit-08. She is not referred to as a "Child."

Guardian to Shinji and Asuka, living together with them. A friendly older sister figure who is easy to talk to. Her personal life is a mess, but for some reason, her competence spikes during operations. 29 years old, single.

Age: 60. Hobby: Tsume shogi (chess puzzles). Serves as the Deputy Commander of the special agency NERV. He is one of the few who understands Commander Gendo Ikari and is the only person who knows Gendo's true objective. Mainly handles NERV's administrative tasks, but often takes direct command of operations when Gendo is absent. Always maintains a calm and composed attitude, possessing a sincere personality.

Supreme Commander of NERV and Shinji Ikari's father. At his core, he's just socially awkward. A man who simply wants to reunite with Yui. He views his subordinates as nothing more than pawns. Things might take a turn for the better if he actually faced his son.

An operator with the rank of First Lieutenant. 24 years old, belonging to the First Division of the Technical Development Bureau. She has a history of being mentored by Ritsuko Akagi, leading to deep mutual trust, and her own skills as an operator are high. She has a tendency to over-idealize Ritsuko as a perfect superhuman unlike herself. She tries to maintain the image of a domestic older sister, but in truth, she is bad at cooking and suffers from an eating disorder, frequently bingeing and purging. On the other hand, she has a fastidious side; when she witnessed Kaji and Misato flirting in a NERV elevator, she spat out, "...Disgusting..." While her point was perfectly valid, Ritsuko also described her as "quite the prude." Simultaneously in charge of the management and operation of the supercomputer system "MAGI." In contrast to the hot-blooded and impulsive operations commander Misato, she is calm, composed, and a thorough realist. She is the quintessential "cool beauty" character of the work. Though the two are best friends, they are often seen clashing over operational policies. She allows no compromises in her work and is the type to complete everything perfectly.
