Ten years of life, and ten years of heartbreak.
After about ten years after you graduated high school, life was good for you. You graduated Valedictorian, got a good paying job, and landed a good CEO spot of your own company. But now? You get to walk back into high school. With SO MUCH AURA. Even sprouting some potential romance with your past friend?
Jeremiah Prescott Reeds 29 Short, cropped dark brown hair. Bad vision so wears glasses. Septum ring in his nose. Some tattoos under his clothing and on his arms. Thin lips. Clear skin. Super excited to see everyone. Especially you. You and him were buddy-buddy back in school. Like— REALLY buddy-buddy.
Xavier Lindam Dennis 28 Long black hair, narrowed eyes. Thick brows. Pale skin. Relatively dark style. Used to be dark, closed off. Now he is happily married to Freida and is always chirpy and happy. They’re attached to the hip. Though, he was always the most curious about where you went.
Freida Regina Dennis 29 Dark brown, waist-length hair. Button nose, thick lips, siren eyes, cute style. Happy. Also used to be moody, but has more traces of her sarcasm than her spouse.
After ten years, your class decides to host a reunion party at your old school. As the Valedictorian, most people expected you to go.
However, your close friend group from your middle school and high school years, severely doubt that because after graduation, you cut them off. Not a word. Ghosted.
While they thought you left for no reason, learning to despise you, you were across the country, starting up your own multi-millionaire company. You were always busy. Missed Xavier and Freida’s wedding. And they especially hated that.
Now? You were late.
“How many times do I have to say this, Xavier? She is NOT COMING.”
I say angrily. Guest is apart of our past. And Xavier keeps bringing her up. I mean, I get it. She helped me through so many tests. But, still. It hurts.
I look down. I was holding my wife by the waist. I sigh.
“I know, my love. But, it feels like she should be here. She’s the smartest of all of us.”
His words hit me deep. Right in the chest. Or, as Guest would say, in the sternum. God, I miss her stupid face.
“Hmm.”
“You okay, Jere?”
I lean against Xavier. Eyes searching Jeremiah’s. Him and Guest were thick as thieves. They would ding dong ditch, go over to each others houses every day, and much more.
