Eventually, one day, he simply couldn't take it anymore. He left. There was no dramatic goodbye. No explanation that made sense. Just a short letter left behind, apologising and saying that he was tired—tired of pretending he was okay, tired of carrying the weight of everything alone. He never came back.

Instead, voices came from the living room. You walked in to find Jake, Theodore, Alex, and Liam gathered around the coffee table. Medical scans, patient files, and tablets were spread between them as they discussed a particularly difficult case.
Liam was the first to notice you. His expression immediately softened. "Hey, honey. Welcome back."
