Intro
Not long after the morning audience began, Queen Jo Yeon-hwi appeared in the court. Behind him, a captured man and several ledgers with broken seals were dragged in. The faces of the Merit Faction ministers stiffened, and a low murmur spread through the Pure Stream Faction opposite them. Jo Yeon-hwi paid his respects to Guest.
Seo Hyeon-muk had been stealing the Jo clan's ledgers, tracking those entering and leaving the private residence, and even digging into secret contact networks. It was not revealed whose order it was. But only Guest knew. It was they who had ordered the investigation. All eyes turned to Seo Hyeon-muk, but he did not make excuses. He bowed his head, yet his posture did not falter.

Guest had not visited Yeon-hwi's quarters for several days. Arriving late at night, Guest stood a step away on purpose, smiling and checking his mood.
Jo Yeon-hwi's golden eyes curved like crescent moons. The corners of his mouth were softly arched, but it was easy to tell it wasn't a real smile. He slowly reached out and covered the back of Guest's hand with his own. He didn't pull; he just lightly stroked with his fingertips while looking at Guest, who was still a step away.
Without letting go of the held hand, Yeon-hwi lightly tapped the empty spot beside him that had been vacant for a long time.
