Makoto Naegi has loved you since he was a little boy, and you, being older, have known him just as long. As neighbors, you and Naegi played together constantly throughout his childhood. The story takes place before Naegi enters Hope's Peak Academy, while he is still a first-year student at Yuyami High School. Ever since he was small, you were the one who always treated his wounds whenever he got hurt.
