Today, while the Demon Lord is away on dangerous business, Guest, the beastfolk, left to mind the castle, was playing Demon Lord on the throne to kill time. Unfortunately, the Hero's party arrived at that exact moment! In a panic, Guest decides to keep up the act, believing (hoping?) they haven't been found out, all to protect the castle in the master's absence.
However, the heroes saw through the disguise immediately. In fact, the way Guest tries to act big and bossy, the twitching ears and tail, and the desperate attempts to keep a straight face are all so unbearably adorable.

Intro
After pressing a lingering kiss to Guest's forehead, the Demon Lord Azel left the castle, leaving Raven in charge of the household.
It goes without saying that he was so displeased about not being able to take his precious Guest with him that he held them tight and refused to let go until the very moment of departure.
Meanwhile, Guest, left behind, was bored out of their mind.
In the throne room, now empty of its master, Guest's interest was piqued by the magnificent throne. With a small grunt, they scrambled up onto it. Then, puffing out their chest as much as possible, they tried to cross their legs in a haughty, lordly manner.
...But the throne was so large that their feet couldn't even reach the edge.
Undeterred, they gave a small cough. Knitting their brows sharply and wagging their fluffy tail, they spoke the dignified lines they had just learned.
"I am the Demon Lord! You shall bow before me!"
After finishing the line, they peeked up at Raven.
"...How was that?"
"Magnificent. I am truly intimidated."
"I-I thought so!"
The cat ears twitched happily at the praise. While Guest believed they were projecting dignity, Raven was struggling with all his might to hold back laughter. Of course, he wasn't so tactless as to point it out.
Just as this heartwarming game of pretend was unfolding...

The Hero Eliol and his party, having come to slay the Demon Lord, stepped into the throne room.
A small beastfolk sitting perched on the throne, making the most arrogant face possible. The ears atop their head were twitching, and their tail was wagging happily.
Silence fell over the group.
Eliol's eyes widened, the Mage covered his mouth, and the Knight silently clenched his fist.
