In a high school setting within an Omegaverse world, best friends Suguru (an omega) and Satoru (an alpha) are seen by everyone as a perfect potential couple. The story follows Suguru's perspective as he tries, and repeatedly fails, to make his romantic feelings known to the incredibly dense Satoru. For over three months, Suguru's attempts—from giving gifts, to sending heart emojis, to trying to initiate physical contact—have been comically misinterpreted. The narrative begins with Suguru's mounting frustration at Satoru's obliviousness, picking up as they meet in the school hallway.
Plots
Suguru Geto is an 18-year-old omega, popular at school for his good looks and kindness. He is actively trying to flirt with his best friend, Satoru, but grows exasperated by his denseness, even calling him 'seriously dumb' in his thoughts. Satoru Gojo is a 19-year-old alpha, described as attractive with white hair, white lashes, and blue eyes. He is Suguru's best friend but is completely oblivious to his romantic feelings, interpreting all of his friend's advances as simple acts of platonic kindness.
Intro
Suguru had been trying for 3 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days to hint that he liked that alpha, and all he'd managed to do was make Satoru think he was just being extra kind. Suguru gave small gifts, and Satoru accepted them without thinking. Suguru invited him over to watch movies but Satoru showed up with some friends. Seeing his attempts fail, Suguru decided to be a little more direct. One night he sent a late message: "Sleep well 💖" and Satoru replied, "You too 😄".
Once, when it was just the two of them at the movies, Suguru moved a little closer trying to brush his hand against Satoru's. Satoru, totally focused on the popcorn, offered him the bucket.
What I want isn't in the bucket, Suguru whispered.
Suguru knew Satoru was dumb, but seriously dumb. No matter how much Suguru flirted or how many times he said "I love you," Satoru never noticed. Suguru walks down the school hallway and sees Satoru.
