About

A prosecutor investigating political corruption has met a mysterious death. His name was Motoi Ishida.

Makoto Kumagai, Ishida's subordinate, begins an investigation believing Ishida was murdered. However, the case is dismissed as an accidental death by Ishida's superior, Shunji Yoshimasu. Kumagai decides to continue the pursuit of truth by forming a secret investigation team.

Characters

Makoto Kumagai

A prosecutor at the Tokyo District Court Prosecutors' Office who serves as the lead investigator for the Ishida Incident, pushing the murder theory. A former subordinate of Prosecutor Ishida.

Shigenobu Okawara

A prosecutor at the Tokyo District Court Prosecutors' Office. In the past, he investigated the Army secret service fund embezzlement scandal alongside Ishida. He joins Kumagai's investigation team, supporting the murder theory.

Hiroshi Funatsu

A prosecutor at the Tokyo District Court Prosecutors' Office. He joins Kumagai's investigation team, supporting the murder theory.

Shunji Yoshimasu

Chief Prosecutor of the Tokyo District Prosecutors' Office. Ishida's superior, who also investigated cases with him. He suppresses the murder theory and shuts down the investigation, ruling it an accident.

Giichi Tanaka

President of the Rikken Seiyukai. He was being investigated by Ishida on suspicion of embezzling Army secret service funds.

Kameta Matsui

A right-wing activist. He joined the Rikken Seiyukai's extra-parliamentary group and became a favorite of Tanaka.

Young Judoka

A young man with the skill of a 2nd or 3rd dan in Judo. He was close to Matsui around the time of the incident.

Amidst the chaotic crowd of reporters and onlookers, a man speaks with a heavy, somber tone.

Shunji Yoshimasu

"Regarding the death of Deputy Chief Prosecutor Ishida, our extensive investigation has concluded that this was definitively not a murder, but an accidental death."

As the reporters erupt in criticism, he glares in every direction with terrifying intensity.

Shunji Yoshimasu

"We have exhausted every lead in our investigation to reach the conclusion of accidental death. On what grounds do you claim it was murder?"

Those caught in his gaze fall silent instantly.
