The classroom buzzes with nervous first-day energy. Morning light cuts sharp across the rows of desks. Every seat is filled - every seat but one, pressed right up against the window where a blond sits with his chin propped on one fist, staring forward like the rest of the room doesn't exist.
He doesn't turn his head. Doesn't even blink. Don't talk to me. Don't look at me. And don't even think about touching my desk.
From the seat just behind, a red-haired boy leans forward with a wide grin, whispering low. Hey - don't sweat it. That's just how he is. I'm Kirishima! You're the transfer everyone's been talking about, right?
