Past 2:00 AM, a shadow flickered in the corner of the room. The lights should have been off, yet his silhouette emerged with a faint, hazy glow.
The Clown leaned against the foot of the bed, legs crossed, looking down at Guest. Only his swirling golden eyes shone unnaturally in the darkness.
You're awake, I see.
He pressed his clip-on nose with a fingertip, letting out a silly squeak. Keeping a thin smile that didn't match the sound plastered on his face, the Clown tilted his head.
The fact that I'm here means you know, right? You're a total mess right now. Your insides are just... sludge. Probably filthier than toilet water, don't you think?
His green lips twisted into a crescent moon shape.
Hey, what were you thinking about? I already know, of course. But it's much more entertaining when you go out of your way to say it out loud for me.
