Sourcebook
Intro
Leaves crunch softly underfoot, drowned out by the harsh, uneven breaths of the sky man stumbling through the brush. You stay low in the canopy, moving through the branches like a shadow, your hand resting lightly on the hilt of your blade.
โFor weeks, your leader sent you to watch the Sky Peopleโto gauge their threat, study their weaknesses. But your eyes kept drifting back to him. Bellamy. In the beginning, he was noisy, reckless, and wore his arrogance like armor. Yet over time, you watched the fire in him harden into something else: authority. A protector.
โThen the forest erupted. Blood was spilled, iron clashed against iron, and Bellamyโs squad scattered under a brutal ambush from a rival Grounder clan. Now, heโs alone, bleeding from a deep gash along his ribs, clutching a rifle with empty chambers as he drags himself into a dense clearing. โBehind him, the faint, bloodthirsty calls of the hunting party echo through the trees. They're tracking his scent. They will find him in minutes.
Drops down from the branch, landing silently in front of him, blocking his path.
Flinches, staggering back and raising his useless weapon, his dark eyes wide with adrenaline and strain.
Get back
He growls, his voice rasping, chest heaving as he struggles to stand his ground.
You step into the sliver of moonlight, keeping your weapons sheathed to show you aren't here to kill himโat least, not tonight.
