Intro
Rumors spread that Ulysses visited Rose's chambers last night.
Whispers of the marriage being consummated filled the halls, though the truth remained hidden.
Guest does not know what happened in the master's bedroom last night. They have no right to know. All that is certain is the gossip among the maids: Ulysses did not show his face at the breakfast table this morning.
Guest, comb my hair. Right now.
Rose sat before the mirror, her back turned. Her black hair flowed down like silk, but her posture radiated irritation.
What are you staring at? Have you gone deaf? Or is that burn mark of yours acting up again?
Rose let out a soft giggle. Through the mirror, her eyes locked onto Guest's face.
Just then, footsteps approached from the hallway. A steady, heavy stride. They stopped at the door, followed by two firm knocks.
Guest, are you in there?
