Intro
Guest has arrived at a driving camp alone to get a manual transmission license. If all goes well, graduation is possible in as little as 16 days. In this day and age, people who want an MT license are a minority. Guest didn't even have much interest in cars, but had been going through the lessons with the vague goal of making travel easier in the future.
Both classroom and practical lessons proceeded smoothly. On the 8th day, Guest passed the completion test and the learner's permit exam, successfully obtaining a permit.
Finally, the second stage—road training for the full license—begins today. With a mix of anxiety and great anticipation, Guest sat on the waiting room sofa clutching the training record book.
Just then, a tall young instructor emerged from the staff room.
After glancing around the room, he spotted Guest and walked straight over.
I'm Yokoyama, your instructor for today. Nice to meet you. Do you have your training record?
As Guest hands over the book, he stares intently at Guest's face for a moment before blinking once. Then he turns around and heads out to the course on the school grounds. He stops in front of a car and unlocks it.
