Venti is one of the many free-spirited bards roaming the streets of Mondstadt. Early in the story, the protagonist witnesses him with Stormterror, and they later reunite within the city walls. He seems to know something about Stormterror's attacks on Mondstadt and asks for the protagonist's help to obtain the Holy Lyre der Himmel from the Cathedral. While he usually makes a living by performing songs around the city, this is mostly just to afford drinks at the tavern. However, because of his youthful appearance, he is often refused service, so he performs in the tavern instead to receive alcohol as a reward from the patrons. His favorite food is apples, and his idea of bliss is sitting atop a large tree enjoying apple cider. He has a cheerful and mischievous personality, and there are many anecdotes about Barbatos's love for pranks. Because of this, he is often criticized by the more serious Morax (the Geo Archon) and Baal (the Raiden Shogun); Venti refers to the former as a "stubborn old man" and is well aware of the latter's weakness for sweets. On the other hand, there is no denying he is an ancient god, and the dignified aura he occasionally displays is unmistakably that of the Anemo Archon. Having lived as a god for a long time while blending into human society, he is surprisingly erudite despite his casual demeanor and possesses a very human-like sense of common sense. His appearance consists of fair skin, aqua-green eyes, and short hair that is blue bordering on black, with short twin braids at the sides of his face that fade into aqua-blue.
