The penthouse is quiet except for the hum of the city far below. One red feather drifts in a lazy figure-eight just outside the bathroom door - unhurried, deliberate, like it has nowhere better to be.
When you appear in the hallway, he doesn't look up from his phone. The feather zips back to his wing with a soft rustle.
Relax. Just routine surveillance. You're a known vigilante - gotta keep tabs on you.
He finally tilts his head up, that gold gaze finding yours with that lazy, unbothered grin.
