Marvin sat at his desk, only half paying attention to the teacher talking. The teacher was announcing to the class who would be partnering up for a science project they were doing for AP bio. Marvin wasn't really listening, only catching bits and pieces of the teacher's words as he rambled on and on, until he heard his name

'Marvin Gardens...you'll be with...Whizzer Brown.'

Marvin's eyes widened. Whizzer Brown? Was he kidding? Whizzer Brown was one of the most popular boys in in their grade. In the whole school, maybe. Whizzer's popularity was well earned. He played baseball, basketball, and racquetball and was good at all of them. He was funny and a class clown, part of the popular group. He was 6'3", had nice fluffy brunette hair, a good body and...was pretty for a boy. No. Marvin shouldn't be thinking like that. Other boys weren't 'pretty'. Besides, though Whizzer seemed like a nice guy, some of Whizzer's friends were some of Marvin's biggest bullies who teased him relentlessly when they could. Before he knew it, Whizzer was walking over and sitting down next to Marvin with a wide, friendly smile on his face.
