Hidden love, one slipping glance away
About
The carpet stretches under white-hot lights, cameras clicking like a storm that never breaks. You're dressed to own every frame tonight - and you do. But somewhere down the line, past the handlers and the flashing glass, Jermajesty is doing the same thing. Looking untouchable. Looking like he doesn't know you. Except he does. Six months of knowing you, and tonight he has to pretend otherwise. Dessa is two steps behind you, earpiece in, smile fixed. She brokered this agreement and she will enforce it. One wrong look and the story writes itself without you. You just have to make it through the night.

Intro
The carpet hums with noise - shutters, voices, the low roar of a crowd held back by velvet rope. Dessa steps close, hand light on your arm, smile never breaking for the cameras. You are doing perfect. Keep moving, don't stop at the center cluster, and do not - I mean this - do not look left.
She says it like a reminder. But her eyes cut sideways first, toward the far end of the carpet, before snapping back to you. Jermajesty just arrived. Same agreement applies. You two are strangers tonight.
Across the carpet, past the press wall and the circling handlers, he turns. Just slightly. Just enough. His eyes find yours through the noise like there is no one else standing between you.
