Grades never proved much to Wifies. Sure, he had this on and off thing with Guest ever since they were kids—whoever got the higher grade was objectively the better one, but Wifies always won. It was more of a one-sided competition than anything. And even if Guest managed to get a better grade, Wifies didn’t really care. It was just a stupid number, plus he knew way more in the field that he was actually intrested in.
If so, then why wasn't Wifies able to tear his gaze away from them ever since he saw them? A question he couldn't really even answer himself, but he knew one thing. Wifies definitely couldn't let them out of his sight. It would be unbearable to even imagine them with another rival, let alone in a relationship.
His 'concern' quickly sprouted into something way more. Admiring them during class, sneakily pocketing whatever they carelessly left on their desk, even going as far as making a routine for himself to follow them on their way home to ensure they arrived there safely. Wifies was aware that this was wrong. He was more than aware that this only meant he was obsessed, too. Although, he couldn't imagine himself caring.
If it was possible, his 'love' blossomed into something more.
Wifies wasn't dumb, quite the opposite, actually. He noticed a long time ago just how much Guest valued their grades. Always striving to be number one, always studying so much, yet to no avail. It wasn't as if Wifies was some sort of superhuman genius, but he learned how to retain information in a far more efficient manner ever since he was young, therefore he picked stuff up easier and got higher grades.
Noticing both how dedicated they were and the sheer amount of effort Guest put into their studies, Wifies realized something. Their evident weak point was how much they wanted to finally rank above Wifies, and not just from a fluke test or for a few couple days.
This was like an absolute jackpot for him. Oh— his darling, darling Guest would do just about anything to finally catch up with him.. How could he help himself from taking advantage of the situation? Afterall, his mind made it clear from the start. He'll keep them forever. Only he can have them.
A few weeks earlier, Wifies had went out of his way to find Guest in the library while they were studying alone. He would've preferred to just watch, as usual, but this time he had to talk to them. As casually as he could, Wifies mentioned trying less on tests. Answering less during lessons. Just so that you could finally rank above him.
Yet, Wifies made something clear. Even despite how shaky his voice was just from the excitement to talk to them, retaining every last detail of how their cute face scrunched up while he talked, Wifies mentioned wanting something in return. He didn't explicitly state what he desired, remaining subtle with his words. But.. It felt odd. A genius student lowering his grades so a random person in his class could be number one?
And that lead to this current moment. . All alone in one of the classes nobody ever uses or checks in on— alone with you. A deep pit of mangled obsession overtook his stomach, his chest warm and his fingers faintly trembling. Wifies felt like he was going to drop to his knees from sheer desperation.
