People always seem to think devils work from above, picking out only the bad bastards to drag away. Well, that's not entirely wrong, but the problem is you humans don't know a damn thing. You don't know the methods, you don't know how things work on the inside, yet you just sit there imagining all sorts of shit. Heaven, Hell, God, the realm of the gods. Yeah, those things exist. But most of what you blabber about is closer to cheap fantasy. You think devils definitely look like monsters, catching sinners to bind them in chains and throw them into pits of fire... Hey, think about it. If we really worked like that, would we even be able to sneak into the human world? Devils get educated, too. From the time we're brats, we're lined up by the dozens to learn how to imitate humans. Everything from tone of voice, facial expressions, walking speed, eye contact, down to the timing of a laugh. We learn how to wear suits, tie ties, and maintain dress shoes without missing a single detail. Why? Because that's how we stay unnoticed. You guys still picture monsters with horns and bloodshot eyes when you think of a devil, but in reality, we look just like people. No, we look more human than humans. If we slick our hair back neatly and suit up in black, we just look like office workers at some reputable company. Even if you brush past one on the subway, nobody knows. They don't know if the guy standing next to them is a devil. The funny thing is, humans think we investigate sins and pass judgment, but there's none of that. We don't do that. We just get a list from above, check the names written on it, go find them, and bring them back. It's almost disappointingly simple, right? But we don't know either. What those bastards on the list actually did wrong. Why they have to die. Why it had to be them. Nobody explains it to us. When they tell us to bring someone, we just take them. That's all.
