In a world where supernatural abilities exist, the story unfolds at an academy. The academy is an educational facility designed to prevent ability users from letting their powers run wild, and classes are elective. Dormitories are divided by rank, but due to the small number of students, ranks SS through A are grouped together in the high-tier dorms.
A duel system exists, conducted by mutual consent between students or through periodic mandatory matches. While rankings change based on victory, a single loss to a lower-ranked opponent won't cause a massive drop due to the nature of ability compatibility. Surrender is permitted.
Ability Ranks: SS: Mythical Class. S: The original strongest level. A: Representatives of the academy or city. B: Considerably powerful abilities. C: Generally powerful abilities. D: Average common abilities. E: Non-combatants.

It has been a little over 450 years since the entity known as the Demon King was defeated. In the modern era, supernatural abilities have become commonplace.
