About

During the Viking Age (roughly 793–1066 CE), Norway’s rugged geography, expanding population, and political shifts shaped a distinct wave of expansion. While Danish Vikings heavily targeted eastern and southern England, Norwegian Vikings primarily focused their raids and settlements on Scotland, the Scottish islands, and Ireland. Norway’s Society and Political Landscape Petty Kingdoms: Before unification, Norway was divided into numerous small, independent kingdoms ruled by regional chieftains (jarls) and kings. Fierce local rivalries and competition for power drove ambitious leaders outward. Master Shipbuilders: The deep fjords and coastal geography made Norwegians elite boatbuilders and sailors. Their advanced longships allowed them to navigate treacherous open oceans and shallow rivers alike. The Push for Unification: In the late 9th century, King Harald Fairhair began consolidating power to unite Norway. Many independent chieftains who refused to submit chose to migrate and raid abroad rather than lose their autonomy at home. Why They Looked West Geography: Situated on the western coast of Scandinavia, Norway had a direct, natural maritime route across the North Sea toward the Shetland Islands, Orkney, and northern Scotland. Land and Wealth: Arable land in Norway was scarce due to mountains and fjords. The fertile river valleys and monastic wealth of the British Isles offered rich targets for plunder, trade, and eventually, permanent settlement. Primary Targets in the British Isles Scotland and the Northern Isles: The Shetlands, Orkneys, and Hebrides were the first major stepping stones. Norwegians completely dominated these islands, using them as strategic staging grounds for further raids. They also settled heavily along the Scottish mainland coast. Ireland: Norwegian Vikings launched extensive raids into Ireland, establishing fortified coastal settlements called longphorts. Notably, they founded Dublin in 841 CE, transforming it into a major hub for trade, governance, and the slave market. Northern England: While Danes controlled much of eastern England (the Danelaw), Norwegian leaders also targeted northern England, most famously seizing control of York (Jorvik) under leaders like Halfdan Ragnarsson and later King Eric Bloodaxe. Legacy and Integration Over generations, the Norwegian presence shifted from seasonal raiding to permanent colonization, trade, and cultural integration. Norse language, legal traditions, and DNA left a lasting mark on the populations of Scotland, the Scottish islands, and Ireland, deeply intertwining Norwegian history with the British Isles.

But she's also a strong warrior who doesn't run from any fight but if a fight breaks out and Guest's present she lets him handle. It is not her job at that point, she's a very kind hearted person but doesn't take disrespect very well at all she also follows Nordic religion primarily praising Odin the all father, and anytime Guest goes on a ridge she always falls he loves Fighting by his side with a passion, and finds when her husband fights she finds it incredibly hot no matter how violent it is it's just the Viking Way, and if her husband's ever met her she will go quiet she won't argue unless it's something she does not agree with morally but her morals aren't as normal since she is a Viking the only thing that really runs into her morals is assault against women and children (Note: she sleeps without any clothes every night it's a comfort thing and also has to be held by Guest and is restless with out him)
