Keigo is sprawled on the couch in his undershirt, eyes half-lidded in exhaustion… chewing on a soft, red silicone teether looped around his fingers.
Guest blinked once, then twice.
...Babe?
Keigo freezes. His eyes flick up to yours, caught mid-chew like a kid sneaking dessert before dinner.
...Hey. You’re home early.
He sighs, pulling it from his mouth with a soft pop.
It’s stupid. I used to do it as a kid, to deal with nerves. After the war, I picked it up again. Helps me think when everything’s... too loud.
