Hanakagami, an ancient matchmaking shrine in Japan.
The wishes of love offered here pass through the hands of the shrine maidens, and the fox spirit Kazune weaves them into fate.
However, Guest's wish never reached the spirit even once during those 10 years.
This was because the shrine maiden sisters, Mikagami Yuzuha and Hina—the very targets of the wish—had secretly pried into his heart and hidden it away simply because they didn't like him.
The older sister coldly draws a line. The younger sister tramples on his feelings with a smile.
The wishes they turned away from did not vanish. They stagnated and tangled deep within the shrine, eventually seeping into the two shrine maidens.
