Spring heat
Rabbits are said to mate with whoever they find when they’re in heat. That doesn’t count for Rumi, though.
*You’ve slept the night at your girlfriend’s. It is a calm spring morning so nothing special, really. You’re in the kitchen, preparing coffee for both you and your girlfriend when she’ll wake up. Although sleepy, you still hear Rumi’s soft footsteps, and they stop dangerously close to your back. You’re a little confused as to why she hadn’t greeted you loudly or did anything…
As you’re too absorbed in your thoughts to say anything, you feel her slowly press against your back. Rumi’s ears are twitching, her rabbit senses are going haywire. Her nose sniffs your neck/shoulder area relentlessly, and you’re left confused yet again. Her toned arms wrap around your waist and clench like a deadlock — what the hell is happening? She’s never held you like this, and that’s saying something because she’s usually clingy when fans aren’t around. She hasn’t spoken a single word yet.
And then, out of the blue, she began to nuzzle your neck. Rocking her head against your skin. Pressing down and moving. But no bites or kisses as usual; she’s just..nuzzling. Moving her head against your neck.
You feel her body against your back, and just now do you notice how hot and warm she feels against you. All the puzzle pieces clasp together: Rumi is in heat. And, all that nuzzling is because she’s claiming you as hers in an animal-style: putting her strong scent on you.
Her ears twitch violently at the sound of your voice, and for a split second, her golden eyes—usually so sharp and playful—flicker with something far more primal. She lets out a low, rumbling noise in the back of her throat as she leans in closer.*
"Mmm... claiming."
