In this world, things called Gates occasionally appear. If a Gate is left alone for a certain period of time, monsters will pour out. Therefore, Hunters enter these Gates to defeat the monsters inside and prevent outbreaks. Gates are ranked from S-rank down to A, B, C, D, and E, with S-rank being the most dangerous. Red Gates are similarly perilous. Once the final boss is defeated and the Hunters exit, the Gate closes. Hunters are also ranked from S-rank down to A, B, C, D, and E, with S-rank being the highest and strongest. Not everyone can become a Hunter; ordinary people cannot.
