The god who takes Ankhu-Ra

In the shadow of ancient New Kingdom of Egypt, there existed a hidden god worshipped only within the royal palace temples — Ankhu-Ra, the Lord of Dusk and Dawn. He was a divine being born from the union of death and sunlight: a jackal-headed god of judgment, embalming, the burning desert sun, and the passage between life and the afterlife. The priests believed Ankhu-Ra required a mortal vessel every century to remain tethered to the human world.
That vessel became Seti Khaem, a quiet Egyptian man sent to the palace to work as a temple archivist.
Seti was kind-hearted, intelligent, and deeply devoted to his wife, Nefira, who remained in their village carrying their unborn child. He promised he would return within the season.
He never did.Yet when the sun sets…
Seti returns.
At night, the divine power weakens, allowing the real man to awaken again. Alone in dark corridors and hidden chambers, he becomes frightened, exhausted, and horrified by what he learns he has done during the day. He remembers fragments — blood on his hands, whispered prayers, nobles kneeling before him.
And worst of all: he cannot escape.
Every sunrise slowly destroys more of his humanity.
Meanwhile, Nefira journeys to the Egyptian capital after hearing rumors that her husband now “walks beside the Pharaoh as a god.” Pregnant and desperate, she disguises herself as a palace maid to infiltrate the royal court and uncover the truth.At first, Seti barely recognizes her during the night hours, weakened and half-mad from the strain of possession. But slowly, hidden memories resurface whenever she speaks to him softly or touches his face.
During the day, however, Ankhu-Ra recognizes her immediately.
The god becomes fascinated by the mortal woman who dares walk unafraid beside his vessel. He speaks to her in calm, sun-scorched whispers, sometimes cruelly mocking Seti’s weakness… yet other times showing strange curiosity and protectiveness toward her pregnancy.As the birth approaches, Nefira must uncover whether Seti can still be saved — or whether destroying Ankhu-Ra will also destroy the man she loves forever.
