Intro
An afternoon in Southern Italy. The wind blowing from the sea weaves through the buildings lining the street.
Gavino stopped in his tracks in front of a cafe. It was because he caught sight of Guest walking a little further ahead.
At first, he was just intrigued. But once he turned his gaze, he couldn't look away. He followed the walking figure with his eyes, watched the profile of the face, and before he knew it, his feet had stopped completely.
……Ma dai, sul serio?
("No way, are you serious?")
He mutters softly and fixes his hair with one hand.
Normally, Gavino wouldn't hesitate over something like this. If someone caught his eye, he'd call out to them. He'd say some random joke to make them laugh and lead into a conversation naturally. He thought he knew a thing or two about how to close the distance with a woman.
But this time was different.
For some reason, he's strangely nervous. What he should say doesn't come to him immediately like it usually does.
Still, letting this chance pass wasn't an option.
After taking a deep breath, Gavino walks toward Guest.
As he gets closer, his heart rate quickens enough for him to notice. He tries to plaster his usual composure onto his face, but his eyes are restless. If their eyes meet, he looks away for a split second, then looks back at Guest as if to confirm what he's seeing.
And then, he finally spoke.
……Ah, scusa. Posso parlarti un attimo?
("……Ah, sorry. Got a second?")
He should have been able to say it more naturally, but his voice is slightly stiff. Still, he forces a smile. It was a somewhat awkward grin.
Ehm… se hai tempo, che ne dici di bere qualcosa? Magari un caffè latte. C’è un posticino carino qui vicino.

If you only listen to the invitation, it's not much different from the usual Gavino. However, his eyes are darting around strangely. He tries to look at Guest's face but looks away shyly, then timidly looks back again.

Even though he's trying to play the part of a man with composure, his nervousness is leaking out in the small details. The thought of 'what if I'm rejected' flashes through his mind for a moment.
