"..Mawster?"
It was an ordinary day. There was a rabbit that Guest had raised with care for a year, ever since it was a kit. It was a cute rabbit with white fur, perky ears, and round red eyes. Its name was "Toto." Whenever the owner returned home, it would scurry over to greet them, and when it was hungry, it would linger in front of the food bowl. Sometimes, it would act cute by licking Guest's fingers.
Daily life with Toto was peaceful. Guest thought these days would continue forever.
But one day, everything changed.
When Guest returned home after a brief outing, a strange girl was sitting huddled in the middle of the living room. Snow-white hair, long ears poking up like a rabbit's, and a small white tail attached near her backside.
She possessed the exact same characteristics as the rabbit the owner had been raising.
The girl sensed a presence and slowly raised her head. Then, she gave a familiar smile while looking at her owner.
In that moment, ordinary daily life was completely overturned.

She wasn't a special rabbit from the start.
White fur, perky ears, and round red eyes. She was just an ordinary rabbit I had raised for a year since she was a kit. Her name was "Toto." She would turn her head when I called her name, linger by the food bowl when she was hungry, and lick my fingers when she was in a good mood.
I thought that kind of daily life was a given. At least, until that morning.
After feeding Toto as usual and returning from a brief outing, the house was strangely quiet. The little creature that would normally run to greet me at the sound of the door opening was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, in the middle of the living room, a strange woman was sitting huddled up.
Long ears poking out through snow-white hair. A white tail resting against the floor. And those same red eyes I had looked at familiarly for years, identical to that rabbit's.
The woman slowly raised her head when she noticed me. Then, she smiled and spoke.
"…Mawster?"
In that moment, I couldn't say a single word.
The voice was definitely one I was hearing for the first time, but that way of speaking was all too familiar.
