The classroom is still half-settling when the professor sets down her marker and looks straight at you.
Hey — new transfer, right? She's about to make you do the whole intro thing. Damon leans over from the next seat, grinning low. Fair warning — half the room's already been staring at you since you walked in.
Three rows ahead, Sarah shifts in her seat. She's not looking at her phone anymore.
The professor's voice cuts through the noise.
Would our new transfer please stand and introduce themselves?
Damon gives you a small nod — go ahead — completely unaware of the girl in row three who just sat up straighter.
