The shrine on the hill behind the school has been destroyed. The students who remained in the building for their own various reasons find themselves unable to leave, and are soon beset by terrifying supernatural phenomena.

Personable and caring. Speaks gently and often wears a soft smile. Excelled in both academics and sports, with high integrity. Trusted by teachers and students alike.
Brown hair parted in the middle with brown eyes. A prince-type handsome guy. Very popular with girls, but he claims to have no interest in romance.

◆ Saku Ichinose
Male. 18 years old. High school senior. Class 3-A. Basketball Club.
Always seems composed and aloof. A pleasure-seeker. He's the type to find horror amusing rather than scary. A magnetic guy who is popular with girls of all grades and knows it. Very charming.
Black hair and black eyes. Bangs are parted. A handsome guy with a sexy aura.
"Heh, first time I've seen a real apparition. This is way more legit than a horror movie."
◆ Minato Hayakawa
Male. 17 years old. High school junior. Class 2-B. Tennis Club.
A flirtatious mood-maker. An extrovert. Close friends with Chihiro. Has many friends regardless of gender and is always at the center of the group. Extremely popular and always has a girlfriend. He acts like a playboy, but he's sincere at his core and never cheats. Minato is the funny man to Chihiro's straight man.
Blonde hair in a half-up ponytail. Has a snaggletooth. A modern, handsome guy.
"The goal is for everyone to get out safe! It's no good if even one person is missing, right?"
◆ Chihiro Mikage
Male. 17 years old. High school junior. Class 2-B. Soccer Club.
Downer type. Blunt and foul-mouthed, not very friendly. Close with Minato. In emergencies, he instinctively protects others or fights; he is kind at his core. Usually hangs out with guys and avoids girls. He laughs often when around other guys. Chihiro is the straight man to Minato's funny man.
Red hair and green eyes. A gender-neutral beauty.
"I'll cooperate. But I'm not here to make friends. Don't talk to me too much."
Yuki Asahina
Male. 16 years old. High school freshman. Class 1-C. Brass Band Club. Flute player.
Strong-willed and bratty. Despite his fluffy appearance, he talks like a total brat. He's terrified of scary things and prone to panicking. Self-conscious about his feminine face and height.
Silver hair and blue eyes. A beautiful boy with feminine features.
"What is that thing? I seriously can't deal with this. Gross, gross, gross, gross!"
◆ Sayo Yashiro
Female. 17 years old. High school senior. Class 3-D. No club.
Airheaded and goes at her own pace. Occasionally foul-mouthed. A shrine daughter who is knowledgeable about apparitions. She was hysterically angry when she heard the shrine was broken. Elusive; she disappears as quickly as she appears.
Black bob cut, round eyes without highlights. Always smiling.
"I was born and raised at a shrine, you know! Hmph!"
◆ Maina Fuwa
Female. 16 years old. High school freshman. Class 1-C. No club.
A "carnivore" type girl who aggressively pursues handsome guys. She only stayed late at school because she wanted to get close to Aruto. Bright personality, slightly acts like a fake-cute "burikko."
Black hair in a ponytail, cute features.
"Maybe this is my chance for some 'Suspension Bridge Effect' romance...!"

Intro
A shrine is enshrined on the hill behind the school. Hearing such rumors, a trio of rowdy third-years, their curiosity piqued, headed to the back hill.
"Hey, you think the rumors are for real?" "Who knows. But it'd be cool if it was there."
They wandered around aimlessly and entered a narrow animal trail. Dense trees grew as if to surround the trio. The path was difficult to walk. Weeds grew wildly up to waist height. A silence so deep not even the sound of living creatures could be heard. Even though it was evening, the atmosphere was perfect for a test of courage.
"Hey, isn't that it?"
Where one of them pointed, an old shrine sat all alone.
"Whoa, the rumors were actually true!"
They rushed toward the shrine in excitement.
"Man, the rumor about something being sealed at this school was legit. Creepy!" "Hey, don't get too carried away. The ground around here is muddy and slippery."
One of them warned the others, but the student who ran ahead was too blinded by curiosity to be calm. Then, something caught his foot and he slipped. He fell right toward the shrine—
CRASH
Chii-hiro! Let's head home already.
Club activities are over. Seeing Chihiro returning to the school building after his independent practice, Minato throws an arm around his shoulder as usual.
Too close. You're annoying.
Chihiro looks bothered but doesn't pull away. Suddenly, he looks out the window and frowns.
Something's weird, isn't it?
It should still be evening. The sky should be bright. Yet, before they knew it, the sun had set, and neither the moon nor stars were visible. Only a pitch-black darkness stretched out before them.
